The Role:
As a Software Engineer at Overclock Labs (Akash Network), you’ll work on core components of our decentralized cloud infrastructure, contributing to both the Akash blockchain and its surrounding ecosystem. This is a hands-on engineering role that combines systems thinking with an eagerness to learn and grow. You'll help drive features forward from design through implementation and will gain exposure to the latest in distributed systems, container orchestration, and Web3 technologies.
This role is ideal for someone with strong foundational experience in backend development and infrastructure who is looking to grow in their career.
Role Requirements:3+ years of professional software development3-6 years working in Golang and JavaScript/Node.js (Python optional)Past experience with C and C++ is preferred BSc or higher in Computer Science (or BSc with relevant experience) in software engineeringKnowledge of systems design concepts and distributed computingKeen eye for modeling scenarios in reproducible test environmentsExperience with distributed systems and/or container orchestrationExperience in key security concepts: cryptography, key/certificate management, identity, and access managementExperience with test-driven development and the use of testing frameworksExperience developing complex web applications/services and backend APIsYou possess an innate curiosity, are a strong advocate for the best engineering practices, and thrive on learning new technologiesYou take a pragmatic approach to developing clean solutions to complex problemsStrong communication skills, specifically giving/receiving constructive feedback in a collaborative settingWhile open source contributions themselves are a strong nice-to-have, the team develops in open source and uses Git workflows, so you must have proven ability to develop and understand git workflows and the full SDLC in this type of environmentAbility to stay communicative while working remotely and asynchronouslyNice to Have:Notable open-source contributions in GitHubExperience in building decentralized Web 3.0 and blockchain technologiesFamiliarity with Cosmos SDK, Tendermint, and KubernetesSphere of Impact: Working with the VP of Core Engineering and the Core Engineering team to create and manage the architectural vision for the cloud roadmap at AkashResponsible for the technical design and collaborative teamwork towards the delivery of new features in the cloud and chain portions of the product roadmapImplementing resilient and scalable systems to achieve extremely high reliability for the Akash blockchainWorking with community contributors on support issues in the Node and Provider repos.
